2008 Elementary Area and Blue Ribbon track meets

Vancouver School District has been offering after-school sports for its intermediate-level elementary students for more than 30 years.  The elementary after-school track program provides fourth- and fifth-grade students the opportunity to participate in a fun and competitive sports event.  Hundreds of parents come to the area track meets to cheer for their children as they compete in running, relay, and field events.  For some students, the meets are the beginning of a middle and high school track career.  For other students, it may be the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to participate in sports.  The track meets, coordinated by teachers Carl Leonard, Barry Young, Brian Thrasher, and Kelly Rankin, are made possible by the volunteer efforts of teachers from every elementary school.

All area elementary meets start at approximately 3:45 to 4 p.m. at Columbia River High School
